Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers has today celebrated 125 years of continuous practice, since the founding of the firm in 1899.
Established on Elizabeth Street by JJ Carroll in October of that year, today the firm has more than 200 staff providing high quality legal services across three states and the ACT.
“Our 125th Anniversary today is a celebration of our people and our values”, said Hanaan Indari, the first female Managing Partner ever appointed.
“Today is an extraordinary day in our history and I cannot think of any more appropriate way to celebrate it than by recognising our people and our values.
“Our staff today, and all those who have shared in the Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers’ journey over the past twelve and a half decades, have made an incredible contribution not just to the firm, but also to the legal community and more broadly.
“Our longevity has been built on generations of a ‘people focused’ culture drawing upon the value and strength of being a team and sharing the values that inspired our founders.
“Excellence in legal services, giving back to the community, providing access to justice, embracing diversity and working together.
“Every person who has worked at the firm over 125 years has left their own mark and they are very much a part of the living history that we celebrate today.
“I am very proud to be Managing Partner on this unique day, and I am as excited as I have ever been for the firm and its future.
“I am certain it will be as rewarding and exciting as our 125 years of history to date”, said Ms Indari.
