Jackson Gilbert

Jackson Gilbert is a valued member of the Compensation Law team at Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers. He is based in the firm’s Sydney office.

Jackson has extensive experience in Legal Practice Management, Plaintiff and Defendant insurance and personal injury litigation, including institutional abuse, medical negligence, dust diseases, public liability, motor accidents, professional negligence, and workplace injuries.

He regularly appears in the District Court of NSW and the Supreme Court of NSW and has developed a practice with a significant focus on representing victims of childhood abuse.

Jackson is passionate about several charitable organisations, including International Justice Mission that protects people in poverty from human trafficking, modern-day slavery, violence, and police abuse of power, as well as Open Doors serving persecuted Christians worldwide.

Prior to his legal career, Jackson worked in the not-for profit sector, and in sports coaching.

Key Professional Achievements

• Jackson holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor Laws from the University of Notre Dame finishing in 2016.
• He completed his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law in 2017.
• He was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2018.
• Jackson was honoured as an Australian Law Awards 2020 finalist in the category of Insurance.
• He received the Maurice Blackburn Prize for excellent results in Health Law in 2020, which was accompanied by a Letter of Commendation from the Dean of Law at the University of Notre Dame.
• Jackson joined Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers in 2025.
